Dr. Orwick believes that everyone is unique, from their genetic predisposition to their history of injury. She understands that there are 6 interferences to optimal health and has integrated a 10 step protocol to improve over-all vitality and quality of life. Because everyone is unique we try to accommodate all aspects of health and wellness. Our patients’ needs range from pain management to comprehensive wellness care. For those that seek help with structural integrity, Dr. Orwick has been trained in many chiropractic techniques and physiotherapy modalities. Your first visit is 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes a comprehensive exam, consultation and your first chiropractic adjustment. Together we determine the best treatment plan for your needs. For those interested in other areas of health and wellness she is a Nationally Certified Naturopath and uses multiple techniques to help you achieve optimal health naturally.

Therapies used by Dr. Orwick

	Flexion-distraction table - A moving table that is used to open the spine, making adjusting easier and bringing nutrition to the discs.
	Spinalator table - A table that you lie on and it rolls up your spine. It stimulates the receptors and locks your adjustment into the nervous system.
	Massage (massage machine ) - Used to relax muscles and increase blood flow.
	Myofacial Release & Trigger Point Therapy - Hands on therapy used to release the fascia and toxins.
	Interferencial - which is electric therapy that relaxes the muscle, gets the swelling out, kicks in your natural pain relief chemicals, (endorphins and encephalin),  makes more ATP and protein to expedite healing.
	Ultrasound - Sound wave therapy for deep muscle relaxation.
	Percussor Tool- Tight muscles can prevent the vertebrae from moving while doing an adjustment. The Percussor is a small, powerful massager tool that vibrates on a certain frequency that releases stiffness of the Fascia, the band of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating, or binding together muscles, organs, and other soft structures of the body. Patients are getting phenomenal results with conditions such as TMJ and Plantar Facitis using the Percussor tool.
	Cold Laser Therapy- Erchonia PL 5000 Low Frequency Cold Laser is the only FDA approved cold laser. Although people rarely feel it you can definitely experience the results in as little as 10 minutes. During your visit we will do a 10 minutes demonstration. We  measure range of motion (ROM) and muscle strength before and after the laser treatment. 90-95% of people discover they have increased ROM in each  direction by 2-7 degrees and see weak muscles become stronger. Muscle strength is a reflection of nerve conduction or interference. It is proving to be very helpful for all kinds of difficult cases like carpal tunnel, TMJ, Frozen Shoulder, Osteoarthritis, as well as the basic strain/sprains and neck/back pain. 1. Nutritional Scan-is one of the major tools that Dr. Orwick uses to access what is interfering with your optimal health. Applied kinesiology (muscle testing) is used to find your strengths and weaknesses in your organs, glands, etc. We can also find specific infectious agents that might be sabotaging your health, (yeast, viruses, parasites, staph, strep, heavy metals, etc.) After testing we determine which supplements will work best with your body and unique biochemistry. 3. Orthotic Casting- Dr. Orwick attended 150 hours post graduate orthopedic diplomat program. They spent 3 months on the foot and ankle where she learned the importance of your feet and how they are you foundation. If you have a hyper-pronated (dropped arch) it can cause problems right up the kinetic chair. You know the song that talks about how the foot bone is connected to knee bone? Well it’s truer than we realize.  Improper foot biomechanics are often connected to low back pain. Dr. Orwick uses a company that provides a firm on the inside yet soft on the outside Orthotic that he patients tend to like better than the typical hard plastic kind. She custom casts your foot correctly, and it will take approximately 3 weeks to manufacture your unique Orthotic. Casting is easy and painless and we can order the Orthotic that fits your life style the best.”

4. Great Smokies (Genox) Lab Testing-Great Smokies is a unique company
in North Carolina that does comprehensive lab testing mainly for Naturopaths, DO’s and alternative friendly MD’s. They test more thoroughly than most Primary Care Physicians. 5. Young Living Essential Oils- (Aromatherapy)-The quickest way to your brain is through your olfactory nerve or nose. We all know how the smell of an old boyfriend or girlfriend brings back a flood of memories and emotions. Let’s face it smells affect us, we might as well use this to our advantage. 6. RELAX INTO HEALING TAPES

Dr. Orwick thinks it is very important to put conscience thought into relaxing and healing. A very good way to do that is by listening to CDs.
We highly recommend the relaxation and healing CDs by Nancy Hopps, (pictured left.) Nancy is a gifted healer and artist who has personal and professional experience with many aspects of mind-body relaxing and healing. You will find her compassionate guidance relaxing and healing on many levels. 7. Eyelights - a special type of eyewear that blinks at a certain frequency, to different quadrants of the eye to help increase physical and mental ability. By stimulation the weaker side of the brain it becomes stronger, thus improving overall performance both mentally and physically. 8. Magnets-We are electro-magnetic beings. Think back to 6th grade
science when you studied the atom and the spinning electrons. We are surrounded by electromagnetic frequencies from cell phones, computers, TVs and radio waves etc. They are all having an adverse affect on our electromagnetic balance. We sell special magnets that you keep on your body that help you stay balanced. We perform a simple muscle test to determine if you need one.
